“Never fear the want of business. A man who qualifies himself well for his calling, never fails of employment.”
If we want success we must first qualify ourselves for our callings. Often times we think we just need a lucky break to get started, but in fact we just need to grow ourselves. Once we have reached the proper level of growth then opportunity will come our way.
Take winning the lottery. Many people assume that if they win the lottery then that event will grow them to the capacity to handly it. But as we see time and time again they win, and then loose it all because they simply are not a large enough vessel to hold that much wealth.
If in stead they focus on growing their wealth vessel, then they will not need to win the lottery. Look at Donald Trump – he has gone bankrupt twice, and each time bounced back to more then he was worth before. He is such a large wealth vessel that he will always be filled back up. For him going bankrupt is part of the game. Now he knows something not to do next time.
I think Steve Jobs summed it up beautifully:
“I’m the only person I know that’s lost a quarter of a billion dollars in one year…. It’s very character-building.”
So the question is, how much do you want your character built?
